In 2021 Love in Action purchased 64,803 pounds of food from Community Food Bank and 9,562 pounds from a wholesale grocer. Christian Service Mission donated 28,000 pounds and Walmart donated 60,577 pounds including produce and meats through a cooperative program with Community Food Bank. Plus the food drives from Vestavia Hills High School, Metropolitan Church, and Shades Mountain Baptist Church netted about 10,000 pounds.
People Impact
In 2021, Love in Action provided food to 1,146 families totaling 2817 individuals and provided food to a drug rehab ministry, several small churches serving families in need, a nursing home, and a local AA meeting.
Love in Action became a 501(c)3 organization in 1993 for the sole purpose of providing food and clothing to families in need.
